Tenant operating model

Five tenant types, one platform, zero cross-tenant visibility.

iCollectPRO runs municipalities, agencies, sole collectors, firms and corporates on the same infrastructure — each with its own tenant boundary, its own client entities and its own debt books.

01 · Municipality

The tenant and the client entity are the same organisation.

A municipality tenant runs its own internal collectors against its own ratepayer book. There's no agency layer in between — the municipality is both the tenant and the sole client entity underneath it.

Tenant: Municipality X
↪ Client Entity: Municipality X
Debt Book: Rates & Taxes, Water, Refuse

What a municipality tenant typically runs

  • Internal collector seats only — no external agency access
  • Multiple debt books under one client entity (rates, water, refuse)
  • MFMA Section 116 mandate tracking where a third party is later brought in
  • Direct debtor portal and communications under the municipality's own branding
02 · Collection Agency

One tenant, several client entities, fully separated.

An agency tenant manages debt books on behalf of several client entities — each entity's debtors, cases and reports stay walled off from the others, even though they share the same agency login and billing relationship.

Tenant: Metro Municipality
↪ Client Entity: City of Johannesburg
Debt Book: JHB-2024-ARREARS-04
↪ Client Entity: Municipality B
Debt Book: MB-2024-WATER-01

What an agency tenant typically runs

  • Entity-level reporting rolled up to an agency-wide view
  • Collector teams assigned per client entity, or shared across several
  • Separate branding and debtor communications per entity where required
  • Multi-entity billing consolidated at the agency level
03 · Individual Collector

A single portfolio, sized for a sole practitioner.

A sole collector or small practice runs one portfolio under one client entity — usually named “Own Portfolio” — with a trust account linked where the mandate requires one.

Tenant: John Collector
↪ Client Entity: Own Portfolio
182 open accounts, R 640K arrears

What an individual collector tenant typically runs

  • A single collector seat, sized on the Starter plan
  • Trust account reconciliation where the debt collectors mandate requires it
  • Core collections and basic reporting without multi-entity overhead
04 · Collection Firm

Multiple collectors and trust accounts, one firm-level view.

A registered firm coordinates several collectors and trust accounts across client mandates, with firm-level reporting sitting above the individual collector's own view of their book.

What a collection firm tenant typically runs

  • Several collector seats reporting into one firm-level dashboard
  • Multiple trust accounts, one per mandate where required
  • Firm-wide SLA and performance reporting across all collectors
05 · Corporate Entity

Enterprise portfolios on the same isolation model.

Corporate and enterprise debt portfolios are the platform's fourth planned category — commercial arrears and trade receivables books, run with custom limits, custom integrations and API access rather than the standard plan tiers.

What a corporate entity tenant typically runs

  • Commercial arrears and trade receivables books side by side
  • API access for integration with existing ERP or finance systems
  • Negotiated Enterprise-tier terms rather than a fixed plan
